2020-21: Competed in two matches at 174 pounds.

2019-20: Earned two team awards at the conclusion of the season; the Lifestyle Achievement Award (presented to the cadet-athlete that goes above and beyond in representing VMI Wrestling in the key areas of Academics, Athletics, and Social Life) and shared the Most Improved Wrestler Award with Zach Brown … finished the season with 16 wins, tied for third on the team, and was 4-3 in Southern Conference matches … had two major decisions and one technical fall on the year … took third in the freshman/sophomore bracket at 157 pounds at the Southeast Open … also was third at the All-Academy Championships.

2018-19: Red-shirt … earned the Coach’s Award for work ethic, dedication, leadership and a positive attitude.

2017-18: Placed third on the team with the most tournament bout victories with six for the season … went 6-11 overall for the year with all six wins coming via tournament action … went 0-3 in dual bouts and 0-1 in league matches … finished 6-8 in tournament action … earned two wins at the Casperson Classic … earned a 3-2 decision win over teammate Stevan Smith at the Lock Haven Classic … later defeated teammate Michael Hulcher by a 14-7 decision at the Franklin & Marshall Open … topped Columbia’s Sam Ward by a 5-2 decision at the F&M Open ... named to the SoCon Honor Roll and to the Dean's List.

High School: Four-year letterwinner in wrestling at Grayson County HS in Independence, Virginia ... two-time state champion at 152 pounds ... 126-12 overall record ... as a member of the New River Wrestling Club, was a two-time freestyle and Greco state champ ... participated in the junior freestyle and Greco national championships in Fargo, North Dakota summer of 2017 ... also competed in football, baseball, track and cross country ... all-conference baseball player ... member of the Honor Roll ... BETA club.

Personal: Parents are Shannon and Tonya Lawrence ... has one older sister ... plans to major in civil engineering.
