2011-12: Posted a 7-4 record in his junior season, including a 4-1 mark in dual matches … pinned a pair of opponents at 184 pounds, including Sam Shirey at the Mat Town USA tournament in 3:12 … also put Campbell’s TeShaun Johnson on his back in 5:53 … won five of his first six matches on the season … injured late in the season, wrestling his final match at the Pitt Duals on Jan. 7, a tournament he went 2-1 during, with the only loss a medical withdrawal.
2010-11: Took redshirt season … Went 3-4 in tournament action wrestling unattached … Participated in the Southern Scuffle (12/29), going 1-2 in the tournament that featured a 10-1 victory over Old Dominion’s Marcus Johnson … Went 2-2 at Shorty Hitchcock Invite (1/15), defeating Craig Hogan of Messiah via pinfall and Aaron Norris of Maryland via a major decision by a 10-0 score.
2009-10: Went 9-14 at 165 lbs, boasting a 7-7 tournament record … Led team with five pins, four of which coming in tournament action … Placed third at the All-Academy Championships … Defeated Tyler Mullen of Davidson via major decision in the second round of the SoCon Championships to propel him to a fourth-place finish.
High School: Four-year letterwinner and three-time state placewinner while competing for his father, Bud, at Mountain View ... Placed third in Virginia's AAA State Championships as a senior, competing at 171 lbs ... .Had a 172-27 career mark with 100 pins ... Holds Mountain View's records for wins, pins, takedowns and technical falls ... Voted Outstanding Wrestler on seven different occasions as a senior ... Three-time Fredericksburg Free Lance-Star All-Area Wrestler and a three-time Washington Post All-Met honoree, being named to the First Team following his senior campaign ... First Team All-District and Second Team All-Region selection on the gridiron, rushing for 1,300 yards and 12 touchdowns in 2009, both of which set school records.
