VMI Athletics

In March 2005, Cliff Wade was named Associate Athletic Director for NCAA compliance and the athletic budget after a two-year stint as Assistant Academic Advisor to Athletes. Wade served in this role until August of 2011, when he moved exclusively to the business side of the athletic department.

Prior to joining the athletic department, he served three years as the Executive Officer of VMI’s Naval ROTC Unit, retiring as a Commander, U.S. Navy, after 26 years of active duty.

Wade has a Bachelor’s Degree in Business from Miami (OH) University; a B.S. Degree in Information Systems Management from the University of Maryland; and an M.S. Degree in Management from Webster University.     

Cliff and his wife, Laurie, have four children: C.B. ’05, Nicholas, Alexander ’10, and Samantha.
