2009-10: Drastically increased her hammer throw personal best during the year, culminating in a 48.26 meter (158'4") toss at UVA's Lou Onesty Invitational...effort was nearly five meters beyond her previous PR, and led to a fifth-place finish...struggled at the Big South Championships, but rebounded to finish fifth two weeks later at the Liberty Twilight Qualifier...was also fifth at the Liberty Collegiate Invitational...both throws at the Liberty meets were just over 46.5 meters (152'6")...indoors, set a new PR by winning the VMI Winter Relays with a 15.04 meter toss...was fifth at the Big South Championships in that event, on the strength of a 14.89 meter effort.
2008-09: Began to make an impact at the conference level during her sophomore season...was seventh in the hammer throw at the Big South Outdoor Championships, with a toss of 43.49 M to set a new personal best...also finished 11th in the discus at that meet...also was impressive in conference during indoors, finished sixth in the weight throw at the indoor championships (14.09 M).
2007-08: Was the top thrower in her flight at the UVA Meet in April, tossing the hammer 43.25 M to set a new personal best...also participated in the weight throw during the indoor season, with a best effort of 13.09 M.
High School:
Harris is the River Ridge District Meet champion and current record
holder in the Discus (113-00)...finished first at the Region III Meet
at Liberty before finishing sixth in the discus at the VHSL Group AA
State Outdoor Championships with a throw of 117-7...Harris plans on
majoring in Chemistry and Spanish at VMI.
