Joakim Kiprotich at DirectAthletics

2011-12: Competed at just three meets during his final collegiate season, running the 400 at the Liberty Kickoff, the 200/400 at the VMI Collegiate Invitational and doing the same at his only outdoor competition, the VMI/W&L Carnival.

2010-11: Switched focus primarily to the 200, although he did run a lifetime best 400 (52.90) at the HPU VertKlasse meet...posted a seasonal-best 200 (24.44) at the Liberty Collegiate Invitational.

2009-10: Took part in several events throughout the track and field season, with a primary focus on the 400-meters...posted a seasonal best of 53.08 at April's UVA Invite.

2008-09: Competed at UVA's outdoor meet in April, finishing fifth in his heat in the 400-meters...took part in several other events during the outdoor campaign to gain experience...ran at the Big South Preview meet for cross country, finishing 37th overall.

Personal: Son of Nixon Kiprotich, two-time Olympic medalist.
