Biography
Team Captain...Dedicated cadet-athlete and student...Has worked hard on improving his technique this season, work that will pay off at the CCSA Championships.
2007-08: Competed in all but one event...Swam on VMI’s fastest 200-freestyle relay and 400-freestyle relay teams this season.
2007 NEC Championship: Placed eighth in the 200-freestyle with a career-best 1:55.75 in the finals...Also finished ninth in the 100-freestyle and tenth in the 50-freestyle, swimming a career-best 23.26 in the prelims...Swam the third leg of the Conference Champion 800-freestyle relay team.
2006-07: Competed at Davidson, swimming the 100 and 200 freestyle events and on the 200-freestyle relay...Also swam in same events at Virginia Tech.
2005 NEC Championship: Came in 13th in the 200-freestyle, swimming a career-best...Placed 15th in the 50-freestyle and 16th in the 100-freestyle, swimming career-bests in the prelims of each event.
Personal: Son of Christopher and Karen Blades... Ranks as a Platoon Lieutenant in the VMI Corps of Cadets...International Relations major with an Arabic minor.
