Biography
2020-21: Had multiple top five finishes during his sophomore year…placed second in the 1650 freestyle vs WVU Tech…earned first place in the 100 backstroke, second in 800 freestyle 9:19.96, and third in 400 freestyle at WVU Tech… finished third in the 1000 freestyle vs SVU…had a season-best 100 backstroke time of 58.81, and took third in the 500 freestyle vs Mt. St. Mary’s…clocked top five finishes in the 1000 freestyle, 200 backstroke, and 200 IM vs UMBC…placed 16th in the 500 freestyle, and 11th place in both 400 IM and 200 backstroke at the American East Championships.
2019-20: Swam in freestyle and IM as a freshman…member of the freshman record-breaking team in 800 freestyle relay with 7:04.60…placed 14th in 400 IM, and 17th in 1650 freestyle at the ECAC Championships.
Before VMI: Lettered for three seasons at Glen Allen High School … holds school records in the 200 and 800 free, the 200 IM, the 200 IM relay and the 200 and 400 free relays … team MVP in 2017, won the high point award in 2018 … Competed with NOVA Swimming, earning Most Improved honors in 2017.
Personal: The son of Eric and Beth Jorgenson … plans to major in civil engineering … father Eric played collegiate baseball at Oakland University, his sister Sarah swims at JMU.
