Biography
Team Captain...One of the hardest workers on the team... Has a good chance of improving his times dramatically in the distance freestyle events at the CCSA Championships.
2007-08: Competed in every event...Has posted VMI’s top times in the 500-freestyle, 1000-freestyle and 1650-freestyle this season...Swam the anchor leg on VMI’s fastest 400-freestyle relay and the leadoff leg on the Keydets’ top 800-freestyle relay.
2007 NEC Championship: Placed second in the 1650-freestyle, third in the 500-freestyle and ninth in the 200-freestyle, swimming a career-best 1:53.40 in the finals...Swam the anchor leg on the Conference Champion 800-freestyle relay team.
2006-07: Missed only one event this season...Swam on VMI’s fastest 800-freestyle relay team this season at the Yellow Jacket Invitational...Has been team’s second-fastest competitor in 500, 1000 and 1650 freestyle.
2006 NEC Championship: Won Championship with career-best time in 1650-freestyle...Also a member of the 800-freestyle relay championship squad...Placed fourth with a career-best time in the 200-yard freestyle...Also placed third in the 500-freestyle.
2005 NEC Championship: Placed fifth in the 1650-freestyle...Also came in seventh in the 500-freestyle, turning in a career-best time...Also took 11th in the 200-freestyle.
Personal: Son of Richard and Cindy Beyer...Ranks as a Battalion S-5 Lieutenant in the VMI Corps of Cadets... Economics and Business major.
