2011-12: Qualified for his fourth NCAA Outdoor Championships by winning both of his heats at the preliminary round, including posting a seasonal best 1:47.96 in the quarterfinals to beat Donte Holmes and Lance Roller...was his sixth win in eight career races at the preliminary round (formerly regionals)...went on to finish 17th at the NCAA Championships after being involved in a late-race collision...earned his second Honorable Mention All-American honor...won his second straight IC4A title in mid-May...was his fourth individual IC4A crown, after also winning two indoors...won both the 800 and 1,500-meters at the Big South Championships...800 win made him the first Big South athlete to ever win a conference title five times in a single event, indoors or outdoors...was accomplished in a meet record time of 1:48.79, breaking his own mark...won by nearly 3.5 seconds...1500 win made him just the second Big South athlete to ever pull off the 800/1500 double in back to back seasons...competed in two cross country races, finishing 12th at the Big South Championships after running a personal best 24:36 two weeks earlier at the Queens Invite.

2010-11: Finished 21st in the country in the 800-meter run, making his third career trip to the NCAA Championships…entered that meet having won 17 of his past 18 races, contested at four different distances…voted Most Outstanding Men’s Track Performer at the Big South Outdoor meet, where he won both the 800 and 1,500-meter runs…win at 1,500 was his first collegiate race at that distance, while the 800 marked his seventh career title in that event (fourth outdoors)…won the 800 in meet record time, 1:48.91 despite running alone virtually from the opening gun…he became only the fifth athlete in conference history to sweep an event all four years of eligibility (outdoor 800-meters)…also became just the second competitor to win seven of eight possible conference titles in one event between indoor and outdoor, joining Kendrick Cooper of Winthrop, who dominated the shortest hurdle distance earlier in the decade…won his first career IC4A outdoor title after two previous runner-up finishes…IC4A time was his seasonal best, a 1:48.41…prevailed in both of his heats at the preliminary round meet in Bloomington, Ind…defeated eventual NCAA Champion Robby Andrews of Virginia at April’s Mason Spring Invite…during the indoor season, won not only the Big South title, but the IC4A crown as well…was his third career IC4A title, and he followed it up just hours later by anchoring VMI’s 4X800 relay to the fastest time in the world during the indoor season…after finishing third in his season-opening race in December, was unbeaten for the remainder of the indoor season…was VMI's top cross country runner on multiple occasions, including the Charlotte Invitational, where he set an 8K PR at 25:02 and finished sixth overall...finished eighth at the Big South XC Championships, earning him his first career All-Big South honor in cross country…now a 12-time All-Big South honoree...was VMI's top cross country runner on multiple occasions, including the Charlotte Invitational, where he set an 8K PR at 25:02 and finished sixth overall.

2009-10: Qualified for the NCAA Outdoor Championships with a second-place finish in his heat at the NCAA East Region Preliminaries...was able to outkick Jeff Moriarty of Columbia and Ryan Foster of Penn State late in the race, and best Foster at the line to take the runner-up spot...also beat Foster for the heat win in the opening round of that meet, again, with a late surge...wound up 19th at the national meet, after a fourth-place finish in his heat there...outdoor season-best time came at the IC4A Championships, where he finished second to Brian Gagnon of UConn, but edged fellow National Championship Qualifier Michael Rutt, also from Connecticut...posted a 1:47.62 clocking in the opening round at that meet, which ranked him #8 in Division I entering the NCAA's...two weeks prior, Kitur posted a 1:47.78 clocking, and a second-place finish in an epic 800-meter race at the Liberty Twilight Qualifier, as he nearly outkicked NCAA Indoor Champion Robby Andrews of Virginia for the win in the last 50 meters...during the indoor season, rebounded from a disappointing Big South Championships by winning his first career IC4A title, capturing the crown in the 800-meters...failed to win the Big South Conference 800-meter title for the first time, as he placed third...began his indoor season at the Great Dane Classic in New York City, where he placed third in the 800-meters, behind two runners who would go on to join him at the NCAA Preliminary Round during the outdoor campaign...went on to finish second at the Akron Invitational two weeks later, before earning his first title of the season at Feb. 19's Virginia Tech Challenge...returned to the cross country course for three events, with a season-best of 26:53 at the Appalachian State meet.

2008-09: Battled injuries during his sophomore campaign...still was able to defend his Big South Championships in his trademark event, the 800-meters, where he holds both the indoor and outdoor records...won the outdoor title by nearly a second in April...edged teammate Donnie Cowart in February for the indoor conference crown...also finished third in the mile at the indoor meet, helping the Keydets to a second-place finish in the team standings...won the 800-meters at the season-opening Kent State Golden Flash Gala...also won at the Great Dane Classic, held at the historic Armory in New York City.

2007-08: Qualified for NCAA National Championships with stunning performance at East Regional meet, running a Big South Record 1:46.75 time to finish second and post the third-quickest NCAA regular season time of 2008 ... finished ninth at National Championships, the top finisher to not make the finals, and missed out on an All-American berth by .17 seconds...his 1:46.75 personal best is a school record, breaking a mark that had stood for more than two decades...he also broke and re-set the indoor 800-meter record, setting a new mark initially on Feb. 23 at Virginia Tech, and doing so again at the IC4A meet with his 1:49.43 time...his time broke the VMI record previously held by Henry Sanchez, who is best known as a former American Record holder in the 500-meter run...Kitur also played roles on successful relay teams, including those at the Penn Relays and the indoor IC4A meet.

High School: Member of the 2006 Kenyan National Jr. Trials in the 400m, and holds school records in the 400m and 800m.

Personal: Third Kenyan recruit for the Keydets in past few years...Father, David ,is a three-time Olympic performer in the 400m and Uncle, Samson, is a 400m Olympic Bronze medalist.
