Katie Altmann enters her third year at VMI as an assistant athletic trainer. She will serve as the athletic trainer for the men’s and women’s cross country teams along with the men’s and women’s track and field teams.
She spent the 2021-22 season as the head athletic trainer for Mary Baldwin University, where she worked with women’s soccer, volleyball, cross country, women’s basketball, softball, and track and field. Prior to Mary Baldwin University, she spent three years as the athletic trainer for Narrows High School in southwest Virginia.
Originally from Indiana, Katie received her bachelor’s degree in athletic training from Indiana State University in May 2016. While in the athletic training program at ISU, she worked with a variety of teams. She completed her master’s degree in health promotion from Concord University in May 2018.
Katie resides in Lexington with her husband, Craig, and their dog, Finn.
