Biography
THREE-YEAR LETTERMAN/ECONOMICS AND BUSINESS MAJOR
Excellent shooter who will be counted on even more for outside shooting this year…can stretch defenses with his range…fills the wing position…will provide the Keydets leadership on the court…has been both a starter and reserve in his career.
2010-11: Played 31 games all in a reserve role…averaged 7.0 points…was third on the team in 3-pointers made with 52…hit double figures scoring in eight games…scored a season-high 21 points against Gardner-Webb when he hit six of nine shots from the floor including five 3-pointers in eight tries…also hit 5of 8 shots from 3-point range in a 15-point game against Radford Feb. 12…converted four three point-goals at Marshall and against Central Penn…sank all four free throw attempts against Presbyterian College on his way to a 12-point night…pulled down 13 rebounds over a two-game stretch against High Point and Radford...dished out five assists against Central Penn and tied a career-high with three steals against Radford.
2009-10: Ranked fourth on the team in scoring with a 12.1 average and was one of five Keydet players on the roster to average double-figures…led the team in 3-point percentage (.393) and was third in 3-pointers made with 75…averaged 27.9 minutes per game which the third highest average on the squad…hit double figures 18 times on the season and had a stretch of seven straight games of 10 or more points in seven straight games early in the season and averaged 18.1 points over that stretch…produced a season-high 25 points against Lynchburg College and 21 points versus Charleston Southern at Cameron Hall...scored 19 points at Big East foe Seton Hall…grabbed a season-high six rebounds against Winthrop Feb. 6 and also had six boards against West Virginia Wesleyan…nailed seven of 10 three-pointers against Lynchburg College and hit four or more treys in nine contests…ranked second in the league in 3-point percentage and fourth in 3-pointers made per game.
2008-09: Started the season in quick fashion, scoring double figures in five of the first 10 games of his freshman season…averaged 11.3 points and hit 15-of-26 from the field over a three-game November swing that Maryland Bible, Stevenson, and Campbell…nailed all six shots from the field, including two treys, in Big South tilt at UNC Asheville (12/6)…went 10 straight games without hitting for double figures before busting out on Feb. 4 with a career-high 23 points against Winthrop…knocked down 7-of-10 shots that night, including three triples and all six free throw attempts…scored in double figures in six of the last 10 games of the year to help VMI during the stretch drive…also scored 12 points at High Point (2/28) and produced 11-point games at Coastal Carolina (2/14), Radford (2/21) and in the Big South Championship Quarterfinals against Coastal Carolina (3/3)…scored five points in Rupp Arena win at Kentucky in his first college game that took place in his native Lexington, Ky…averaged 9.5 points per game over the last 10 games of the year…lettered for the first time.
HIGH SCHOOL: Averaged 19.1 points and 8.5 rebounds his senior year and became the school's all-time leading scorer, surpassing current South Carolina head coach Darrin Horn…was also selected to play in the prestigious Kentucky-Indiana All-Star Game following his senior year…averaged 17 points, eight rebounds, and three assists per game as a junior…was named the Tates Creek MVP on a team that went 26-7 in 2006-07…also shot 80% from the free throw line to the lead the team and surpassed the 1,000 point career scoring mark during his senior season…played for one of the highest scoring high school teams at the highest classification in the state of Kentucky…also received the Tates basketball team GPA award… played on the Shining Star AAU team which won the Kentucky Championships in Spring 2007.
