Vince Thibodeau

Vince Thibodeau, VMI's first Director of Basketball Operations, enters his third season at the Institute in 2017-18. 

Thibodeau comes to VMI after serving as Assistant Coach, Strength and Conditioning Coach at University of Michigan – Dearborn during the 2014-2015 Season. While there, he coached one player (Jason Penn) who was selected to all-newcomer team in the WHAC. Thibodeau previous served as a Graduate Assistant at George Mason University in 2013-2014 and a manager at his alma mater of Western Michigan University.

He holds a Master’s of Science, Sport and Recreational Studies with a concentration in Sport Management from George Mason University in 2015 with Focus on Motivation and Leadership. He graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelors of Business Administration from Western Michigan in 2013. He also attended the University of Virginia from 2009-2011 and while there served as Assistant Varsity Basketball Coach at Tandem Friends School in Charlottesville, VA.

Thibodeau was a five-sport varsity athlete at Randolph-Macon Academy in Front Royal, Virginia where he named all-state as a punter and basketball player his senior year. After high school, he soloed an airplane (33 flying hours) and worked for multiple years as a Parts and Service Associate at Fairfax Toyota.
