John Hoffman rejoined the VMI Sports Medicine Staff in the fall of 2003 as an Assistant Athletic Trainer. He had previously served as a Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer here at VMI during the 1996-97 academic year.
Hoffman attended the University of Wisconsin-Lacrosse graduating in 1993 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Education-Athletic Training. He went on to earn a Master of Education degree in Athletic Training in 1997 from the University of Virginia.
John Hoffman is licensed in the state of Virginia as an Athletic Trainer, and has been a certified member of The National Athletic Trainers Association since 2003.
Hoffman currently serves as the Associate Head Athletic Trainer with his primary responsibility being to provide athletic training services to the VMI Keydet football team. His professional interests include surgical rehabilitation and reconditioning, strength development, and endurance training. He also serves as a clinical instructor in Athletic Training for the University of Virginia, James Madison University, and Longwood University under the direction of Lance Fujiwara, Director of Sports Medicine here at VMI.
