Nick Korta

Nick Korta enters his first season as an assistant coach for the VMI basketball program.

He comes to the Institute after serving one year as the Assistant Director of Basketball Operations at the University of Missouri.

Korta joined Mizzou after a three-year stint as Director of Player Personnel (2021-23) and Director of Player Development (2023-24) at Bowling Green. With the Falcons, Korta helped the team earn 44 wins, capped by a 20-win campaign in his final season. The 20 wins marked the 10th time in the program’s MAC history – which it joined in 1952-53 – the team reached the milestone, while advancing to the MAC Semifinals for the first time since 2019 and earning a postseason bid to the CIT.

Prior to arriving in Bowling Green, Korta served as a graduate assistant at Florida State for head coach Leonard Hamilton during the 2020-21 campaign. The Seminoles went 18-7 and advanced to the Sweet 16 at the 2021 NCAA Tournament. While at FSU, he aided in player development and assisted with the construction of scouting reports and film study.

Korta earned his bachelor's degree in organizational leadership from Cleveland State in 2020. A student manager on the basketball staff all four years, he was named head student manager at CSU for his final season in 2019-20.
