Daniel Roibal begins his first season as the assistant director of basketball operations for the VMI men’s basketball team in 2021-22.
Roibal served as a graduate assistant for the Rutgers-Newark men’s basketball team the last two seasons while earning a Master of Arts in Liberal Studies degree. In this role, he conducted full scouting reports for the 10-game 2019-20 season, in which the team went 7-3. Roibal also supervised the academic progress of student athletes and was involved in recruiting and retention and strength and conditioning.
He attended Drew University where he was a member of the men's basketball team for four years. Roibal appeared in 91 games and started 41 and tallied nearly 500 points, 400 rebounds, and 100 steals. During his senior season, he was named the captain and helped lead the Rangers to the most wins in program history. He graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business in 2019.
