2009: Found his scoring touch toward the end of the season, notching eight of his 16 goals in the season's final three games...four of those goals came in an overtime loss to Mount St. Mary's, a game in which he had three assists and fell just one point short of his career-best output...scored three goals versus Wagner Apr. 18, including two of the man-up variety...had a goal and an assist in season-ending win over Canisius...also found the back of the net twice against both Presbyterian and Bellarmine early in the year...had a two-assist game against Manhattan Mar. 21...will team with Tim Moran to give VMI a formidable scoring duo in the midfield.

2008: Notched 21 goals, good for third on the team...also dished out 11 assists, including four against Saint Joseph's on Apr. 5, which tied a single-game individual high...scored four goals in the Saint Joseph's game, including the game-winner, giving him eight points on the day...those eight points tied Leonard for the best outing by a VMI player in 2008...scored a trio of goals Apr. 5 versus Siena, helping VMI to the top Div. I upset of 2008 (according to LAXpower)...had two goals the following week in a loss to Canisius, giving him nine goals in a three-game span...grabbed five groundballs Mar. 29 versus Wagner...tallied three man-up goals on the season, good for second on the squad.

2007: Tallied seventeen goals, good for second on the squad...scored four of those against Presybterian on 2/28...had highest shot percentage on team (minimum 10 shots) with his .472...played in all fourteen games as a freshman.

High School/Personal: Four-year attack & middie at St. Vincent Pallotti...two-time team captain...recorded 188 goals and 101 assists ... led Baltimore-Metro area in points scored (113) in 2006...named MIAA All-Conference three-times (2004-2006)...helped lead team to MIAA B Conference state title, going undefeated in conference play ... voted team offensive MVP and team attackman of the year...recipient of the Laurie Cotter Award for excellence in academics and athletics...full name is Brett Alexander Leonard...brother, Drew, joined VMI lacrosse as a freshman during the 2009 season...son of Jack and Heather Leonard.
