VMI Athletics

Shane Buchman was hired as an assistant athletic trainer at VMI in the summer of 2023. He will work with the Keydet baseball and women's soccer teams.

Since joining the Keydets' athletic training staff, Buchman has played a role in several other sports, including wrestling during the 2024-25 season.

Buchman earned his bachelor’s of science degree in exercise science with a specialization in athletic training and master’s of athletic training degree from Lock Haven University.

This spring, Buchman worked in the Southern Conference with the Wofford College baseball team. Previously, he performed supplemental rotations in 2022 and also worked with the Pennsylvania College of Technology’s men’s and women’s soccer programs, the Lock Haven men’s and women’s wrestling teams and at the Williamsport Area Middle and High Schools.

Buchman is a member of the NATA, and is BOC certified.
