2014: Played in six games on the year, starting two...went 2 for 8 at the plate on the year. 

2013: Hit .235 in 38 games, 26 of which he started...hit .235 with 10 doubles...went 3 for 4 with three doubles and two runs scored in win over UMES 2/24...2 for 3 with double and RBI 3/8 at Western Kentucky...2 for 3 with double and run scored in loss to Radford 3/16...went 4 for 9 with two RBI in doubleheader split at Longwood 3/23...2 for 6 with three runs driven in in win over Coastal Carolina March 30...2 for 5 in VMI's next game, an April 2 win over James Madison...2 for 4 with a triple at #4 Virginia 4/3.

2012: Was 3 for 23 (.130) as a true freshman...saw action in 14 games, starting five...picked up his first collegiate hit 2/26 against Lafayette in his first start...had a RBI hit March 4 in his second straight start against Hartford...also had a stolen base in that game...made his final start of the year March 13 at Old Dominion.

High School/Personal: Hit .370 as a junior, earning honorable mention All-State honors in the process...he posted an OPS (on-base plus slugging) of 1.232, including an on-base percentage of nearly .500 that season…Shiflett is a four-year letterwinner in both baseball and football, and has earned academic honors each of those seasons as well…he also played for the AAU National Champions in 2007 and won the MVP honors...son of Vernell and James Shifflett.
