2014: Did not see game action until April 6, but was effective in seven outings from that time forward...did not allow a run over 7 1/3 frames, and gave up just six hits...pitched 1 2/3 shutout innings to secure his first collegiate win in 16-inning game April 13 at High Point...pitched a scoreless frame 4/26 at Winthrop...went 1 2/3 innings in final game of his career, 5/17 vs. CSU and allowed just one hit.
2013: Made 17 appearances on the season, starting once and posting a 4.50 ERA...pitched season-high three innings in start April 24 at Norfolk State...hurled two scoreless innings on four different occasions, including Feb. 17 at Alabama...also did so against UMES, ODU and Norfolk State...charged with the loss March 3 against Binghamton for his lone decision of the year.
2012: Posted a 5.11 ERA in 10 outings, with one start...made his first career start April 24 at Longwood...pitched his first game since 2010 March 6 against William & Mary, retiring one batter...did not allow a run in his first six outings of the season, a span of five innings...went 1 2/3 hitless innings against Old Dominion on March 27...pitched a season-high three frames April 11 in loss to Longwood, allowing two runs.
2011: Did not play.
2010: Made six appearances on the mound…posted a 5.62 ERA, but did strike out 11 hitters over just eight innings…struck out a career-best six in three innings against Presbyterian College (5/21), allowing two solo home runs…came in with the bases loaded against Radford (5/1) and retired the next two batters without allowing a run…recorded a shutout ninth against #7 Coastal Carolina…made his first appearance on the mound in game one against UMES (3/5), allowing three runs over 1.2 innings…also had six at-bats on the year, including a pinch-hit single for his first collegiate hit, 3/6 against UMES.
High School/Personal: Three-year letterman under head coach Scott Hueston at Midlothian…named Second Team All-District as both a pitcher and outfielder in his senior year…hit .489 with four doubles, two home runs, a .850 slugging percentage and 24 RBIs as a senior…also went 6-2 with a 3.12 ERA and was named Team MVP in his senior season…ent 7-0 as a pitcher and hit .450 with 22 RBIs in his sophomore season, helping lead Midlothian to a 17-3 mark...son of David and Kathy McQuaig…played with the Richmond Braves, and won two state championships with the Rise Baseball Club…named to the 2009 Top Prospect team at the 2008 WWBA Championship…was ranked among the top 25 players in Virginia by Impact Baseball…majoring in psychology.
