Alex Crosby joined the VMI coaching staff before the start of the 2024 season.
In 2026, Crosby helped the Keydets’ staff earn the lowest ERA since 2017 and toss the most shutouts in single-season history.
A left-handed pitcher at North Carolina Wesleyan University for three years, Crosby had 23 appearances, 20 strikeouts, a 6.39 ERA, and one save. He finished his collegiate pitching career at Tusculum, pitching in eight games and striking out nine.
He completed internships at the Wake Forest University Pitching Lab, BYoung Performance Center, and The Florida Baseball Armory (2 summers at FBA) and is trained in The Florida Baseball Armory’s Savage Pitching Program.
Crosby attended the World Pitching Congress Conference and attended and presented at the Connect the Dots Conference. He was also a part of the Tarboro River Bandits Inaugural Season where they went on to win the Carolina-Virginia Collegiate League Championship.
He earned a spot on the Southern Athletic Conference Commissioner’s Honor Roll, Tusculum Athletic Director’s Honor Roll, Dean’s List, and Oliver Gray Scholars list and graduated Magna Cum Laude with a degree in sports science. Crosby is the 2023 recipient of the Tusculum Key award, an honor earned by one student from each area of study.
