Andrew Woods' Career Stats

2015: Tied for the fourth-most wins in program history by going 7-1 on the season...his 14 career victories tied for sixth all-time, and he finished his career sixth in BB/9 ratio...pitched VMI to its first main draw conference tournament win in over a decade by going 7 1/3 IP against UNCG...beat Western Carolina by scattering four runs over seven innings...threw a complete game against UNCG May 9, striking out nine and scattering seven hits....beat The Citadel April 26 as part of a three-game sweep...returned to the weekend rotation after missing three weeks and making multiple relief appearances April 18, and dominated Gardner-Webb over seven innings (two ER, seven IP, no walks, eight K)...suffered a broken thumb in 3/13 loss to Central Connecticut State and missed three weeks...returned in relief 4/4 against Furman and picked up a victory in relief...beat Binghamton 3/8, allowing three earned runs over six innings...gave Jonathan Hadra his first win as a head coach by beating North Florida 3-1 on opening night, Feb. 13, when he allowed six hits over seven strong innings. 

2014: Went 5-2 with a 2.70 ERA in his first year in the starting rotation...served as VMI's Sunday starter, and is expected to be the top Keydet returning SP in 2015...threw seven one-hit innings 3/1 at UMES...struck out career high 10 in 3/9 win over Binghamton...beat Presbyterian (3/23) and Gardner-Webb (3/30)...scattered eight hits over seven one-run innings 4/27 at Winthrop.

2013: Finished his sophomore year with a 2-1 record in 21 outings...had a 4.58 ERA in 35 1/3 innings...pitched very well in conference games, holding opponents to a .169 average against in 18 innings...best outing of the season was in suspended game against Winthrop, where he pitched five one-hit innings, striking out four on May 10/11...pitched two perfect innings April 20 at Campbell...allowed just one hit in 2 1/3 innings against Coastal Carolina 3/30 and was VMI's first winning pitcher against the Chanticleers since 2008...pitched shutout innings at Radford 3/15 and against Richmond 3/20...picked up a victory with 2 1/3 one-hit innings against eventual regional qualifier Binghamton March 3...allowed just one hit in 1 2/3 innings at Charleston Southern 4/14.

2012: Appeared in two games during his true freshman season...made his collegiate debut April 10 at VCU, working 1 1/3 scoreless innings with one strikeout...also pitched May 2 at Virginia Tech, surrendering three runs without retiring a hitter.

High School/Personal: Two-time First Team All-State selection…10-1 with a 2.14 ERA and .177 OBA, striking out 72 in 62 innings (2011)…All-Metro…also hit .426 at the plate…received the Barry Gibrall Academic Award from his high school, and is a former participant in the Virginia Commonwealth Games…he comes from a highly athletic family, as his father, Robert, is a former member of the University of Richmond baseball team, while his mother, Elizabeth, was in the crew program at Marietta College.
