Brandon Couling

Brandon Couling comes to VMI from Mary Baldwin University, where he has been the assistant men’s soccer coach since the fall of 2018. During his time, Couling also acted as the interim head coach before their inaugural year in the USA-South Conference. During their first year MBU posted an 8-11 record, including a conference play-off appearance.

Prior to Mary Baldwin, Couling served as an assistant coach for the Lubbock Christian University women’s soccer program for the 2018 spring season. As a player, he was a four-year standout defender for both Lubbock Christian University (TX), in 2016 - 2018 and Salem University (W. Va.), from 2014-16. Couling appeared in 66 games over four years, starting in 58 of them.

A native to the Isle of Wight, England, Couling holds English Football Association Level 1 and 2 Coaching Licenses.

Couling earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in sports psychology from Lubbock Christian in 2018, before obtaining a Master of Science degree in Behaviour Analysis from Mary Baldwin University in 2020.
