Special Ops Wrestling Camp Set for June 19-22

LEXINGTON, Va. – The VMI wrestling program will hold its annual Special Ops Wrestling Camp from June 19-22 at Cormack Hall on the post of Virginia Military Institute in Lexington, Virginia.

The goal of the Special Ops Wrestling Camp experience is to create wrestlers that are “Battle Ready,” or trained and prepared for success on the mat. Participants will be instructed in all aspects of the sport, including technical expertise, conditioning, strength, nutrition and mental toughness.

Wrestling is a lifestyle, or a continuous process of self-improvement. Even those wrestlers who don’t go on to become state champions or All-Americans will become “Battle Ready” men, ready to face and overcome all of life’s challenges.

Camp instructors include VMI wrestling head coach Chris Skretkowicz, VMI assistant coach Ty Prazma and Southern Virginia University head coach Logan Davis.

Each camper will be placed in a small group, allowing for more individual attention.

Camp is limited to the first 60 registered campers and limited to males in grades 6-12. Check-In will be Sunday, June 19, from 2-3 p.m. The event will come to a close on Wednesday, June 22, with a Check-Out time of 4-5 p.m.

Additional information and a complete schedule can be found at specialopswrestling.com.

For locals who will not require overnight accommodations, the “Commuter” registration is available for a fee of $125.00. Campers who will need a place to stay can purchase the “Overnight” registration option for $285.00. A $50.00 deposit is required for either purchase.
