On Szymborski: Will be expected to compete for a starting spot at 174 lbs.

2008-09: Won 12 matches as a freshman, seeing time at 174 lbs. and 184 lbs...Placed third at the "Shorty" Hitchcock Memorial Classic at 174 lbs, going 7-1 on the day...Also placed fourth at the Southern Conference Championships at 174 lbs...Went 2-3 in SoCon duals with all of those matches coming at 174 lbs...Defeated Davidson's Kevin Cook (4-0) and Appalachian State's Antionne Jones (6-4) for his SoCon wins...Scored his first collegiate pin at the SoCon Championships, pinning ASU's Logan Parce in 44 seconds.

High School: Placed fifth at 171 lbs. in Indiana State Championships during junior season...Earned all-area, all-conference and MVP honors during career...Went 122-19 during HS career...Placed third at the High School Junior Nationals...Twice placed third in the Folkstyle Nationals...Four-year letterwinner at Crown Point under head coach Scott Vlink...Also lettered three years in football, where he earned all-area and all-conference honors as well.

Personal: Son of Donald and Diana Szymborski...undecided on major.
