Connor Bach's Career Stats

2014: Drafted by the Washington Nationals in the 21st round of the MLB Draft and signed...went 2-7 with a 4.57 ERA and a .243 opponent batting average as a senior...struck out 75 in 69 innings...struck out nine in eight spectacular one-hit innings 5/10 against Campbell, but took a no-decision...allowed only an unearned run in six innings at Liberty 4/5, but took the loss...struck out seven over five innings to get the win 2/22 against Lafayette...picked up a win 3/22 against Presbyterian with 6 2/3 innings of work. 

2013: Emerged into VMI's ace after a shaky first three starts, as he broke out with five shutout innings March 9 at Western Kentucky...command was a key point in that turnaround, as after walking 13 in his first three starts, he surrendered just 22 free passes over his next 10 outings...wound up 2-4 but with a 2.81 ERA, the eighth-best in the Big South...opponents hit just .208 against the left-hander...pitched eight shutout innings in VMI's 1-0 win at Longwood March 22, which was the first Keydet 1-0 triumph since 1988...surrendered just two hits in that game...allowed just two earned runs and went at least 6 1/3 innings in four straight starts March 29-April 19, including a win over VCU April 5 and an 8 2/3 inning effort at Campbell in which he took a hard-luck 2-1 loss in the ninth...fanned a career-high eight in seven innings May 12 against Winthrop.

2012: Went 0-3 with a 6.75 ERA in 11 appearances (four starts)...made his first career start March 6 against William & Mary, striking out a career-high seven but allowing four runs and taking the loss...also started against Richmond, VCU and James Madison in midweek games, going 0-2 over those three contests...had scoreless relief outings against Virginia (3/21), William and Mary (2/28), High Point (3/30) and Virginia Tech (5/2)...opponents hit .354 against Bach in games he started, while he had an 8.04 ERA in those contests, but those numbers fell to .290 and 4.32, respectively, in his seven relief appearances.

2011: Pitched 1/3 of an inning Feb. 26 against Binghamton, allowing a run on a hit.

High School/Personal: First Team All-District and All-Region (2010)…Honorable Mention All-State…three-year letterwinner at Centreville High School, pitching and playing outfield…can also play first base…signed during the early signing period...majoring in computer science.
