Karter Rivera's Career Statistics

2010: Appeared in six games on the year, posting an 0-1 record and an ERA of 7.45…earned his first collegiate save with a four-inning outing against Lafayette (2/27)…allowed just one run on two hits in that game, striking out four.

2009: Made five relief appearances and one start as a freshman…worked a career-long four innings in game one at #23 Coastal Carolina (5/10)…in that game, settled in to allow just one run over his final three innings…worked 2.1 shutout innings of relief at VCU (3/31), striking out a career-best three while scattering two hits…in his collegiate debut, induced an inning-ending double play against the only batter he faced vs. Rider.

High School/Personal: Four-year letterman at Maury as a pitcher…named Second Team All-District and earned the Tonstall Award by going 9-2 with a 1.59 ERA…tied for the second-most wins in South Hampton Roads…as a junior, went 7-2 while leading South Hampton Roads with a 0.71 ERA…in his career, went 21-5…a letterman on the swimming team, where he placed third in district in the 200 and 500 freestyle…also qualified for regionals as a swimmer…was a member of the National Honor Society and graduated with a 3.8 GPA...Son of Louie and Kim Rivera…played for American Legion Post 60, helping the team to a third place finish at the State Championship…named to the American Legion All-Regional Team…participated in the Junior Olympics and was named MVP of a Spring Break Tournament as a junior…majoring in economics & business.
