2008: Enjoyed a fine season as a redshirt sophomore... Went 2-0 in 15 relief appearances, totaling a 1.64 ERA in 22.0 innings... Struck out 19 batters while walking only five...Allowed only two extra-base hits while facing 94 batters...Earned his first collegiate win against Norfolk State (3/19), entering the sixth inning with the go-ahead run at third base and working 1.1 scoreless innings... Made back-to-back appearances against Maryland-Eastern Shore (5/10 & 11), collecting a win in game three by allowing one base runner in 3.1 innings...Pitched 2.1 innings of scoreless relief in game three against Lafayette (2/24), allowing four hits while striking out two in an 11-9 loss...Made his first career start in game two at Auburn (3/7), going 0-for-4 as the DH before entering the game in relief on the mound, allowing one hit and nothing else in a 6-4 loss...Also appeared in five games offensively, including one start at designated hitter... 2006: Saw action in three games on the mound and three games as an offensive sub...Collected his first career hit against Coppin State (Feb. 19)...Had 1.0 IP at Mercer (Feb. 10), 1.0 IP versus Albany (Mar. 3) and 1.1 IP against Liberty (Apr. 1).
Summer: Earned Regional MVP honors as he teamed with freshman pitcher Chris Duty to lead Midlothian Post 186 to a third place finish at the 2006 American Legion World Series...Did his damage both on the mound and with the bat, going 12-1 on the mound for the season while hitting .409 in the Regional Tournament and .375 at the World Series...Suffered an elbow injury in the final contest.

High School: Four-year letterwinner at Midlothian as a shortstop and pitcher...Reached the 2005 VHSL AAA State Playoffs after a runner-up regional finish...Named to the All-Academic Team...Threw a 1-0 shutout vs. Mills Godwin, ranked #3 nationally, in regional play...Went 9-2 as a senior and earned Dominion District Player of the Year honors...Also earned First Team All-Metro honors as a senior...As a sophomore, went 4-2 with an ERA under 2.00 while pitching for the varsity team.

Personal: Son of Jonathan and Teresa Edwards...
