Justin Hess' Career Statistics

2009/10: Did not play.

2008: Made 54 starts, all of them coming in the outfield...had a career night May 9 against UMES, going 5 for 5 with a career-high three runs scored... had a chance to tie a VMI record with his sixth hit, but drew a walk in his other plate appearance...had three hits the next night, before going 0 for 2 in the series finale...for the year, hit .277 with 10 doubles...equaled his career-high with three RBI Apr. 22 versus Coppin State...also had that total Mar. 14 against Marshall...had his first career game with three doubles Apr. 22 versus Coppin State...hit safely in seven of eight games from Apr. 22 through May 10.

2007:
Saw his playing time increase throughout the season, making 23 starts in center field and one at second base...tied for the team lead with five outfield assists...hit a team-best .382 in 34 at bats in Big South Conference play, seeing action in 13 games...in the team’s final series of the regular season, went 6-for-10 against Liberty, including a 3 for 4 night in game two, driving in three with a 2B and his first career HR...in the Radford series, went 4 for 9 with a double, four runs scored, an RBI, four walks, two sacrifice hits and a stolen base...had hits in both games he played against Winthrop...started each game at Florida, going 2 for 9 with an RBI...reached on a bunt single in his first collegiate at bat in 5-3 opening night victory at Florida.

High School/Personal:
Three-year letterman as a middle infielder at Deep Creek...named to the Virginian-Pilot All-Tidewater team after hitting .431 with 11 stolen bases, 23 runs scored and 17 RBI as a senior...two-time honorable mention all-district honoree...son of Timothy and Sheri Hess... participated in the 2006 Perfect Game USA World Showcase...played shortstop for the 2005 AAU National Champion Virginia Heat team...won a pair of state championships for the Virginia Cannons and played shortstop for the Tidewater White Sox...majoring in mechanical engineering.
