2012-13: Won his second straight Big South title in the heptathlon...also finished sixth in the long jump and fifth in the high jump...finished sixth in the hep at the IC4A meet...outdoors, scored 17 points at the conference meet, including his third straight runner-up finish in the decathlon...also fourth in the long jump, with a new personal best of 7.22 meters, and fifth in the high jump...qualified for the IC4A meet in the decathlon, but did not finish the event...did compete on the 4X1 relay that finished 26th.
2011-12: Emerged as a true force at the regional level, earning two All-IC4A finishes in the multi events...during the indoor season, placed third in the heptathlon at that meet, notching a school record 5,218 points...also was named Most Outstanding Field Performer at the Big South Indoor Championships, where he won the heptathlon, finished fourth in the high jump, sixth in the pole vault and fifth in the long jump...that was good enough for 22 total points...posted two personal bests during the indoor season, a new 60-meter mark during the Big South's heptathlon (7.13 seconds) and a new long jump mark during the open event at the YSU Invitational (7.21 M/23'8")...finished sixth in the high jump at the Great Dane Classic (2.01 M)...outdoors, had six personal bests marks in single events, four of which came either at the Big South meet or the IC4A Championships...notched PR's in the 400 and the javelin en route to his runner-up finish at the IC4A meet...javelin PR of 44.54 (146'1") was nearly a three-meter improvement...went on to score a personal best 6,687 points at IC4A's...scored 16 points at the Big South meet, including a runner-up effort in the decathlon...effort was fueled by PR's in the 110-hurdles and the pole vault...also finished seventh in the long jump and third in the high jump at the conference meet...won the decathlon by over 200 points at the VMI/W&L Carnival...Wood won six of the 10 events at that meet, while finishing second in another...was fifth in the long jump at the Patriot Open (6.96 M/22'10").
2010-11: Emerged as a top conference contender in the multi events, finishing second in the decathlon (outdoors) and heptathlon (indoors) in the Big South...qualified for IC4A's in the decathlon, with a top score of 6,357, which remained his PR at season's end...that mark was posted at the VMI/W&L Carnival, where Wood finished second to an athlete who placed fourth at the D-III National Championships (Roethel of Christopher Newport)...Wood also qualified for IC4A's in the long jump, after posting a mark of 7.13 meters (23'4 3/4") to finish third at the indoor conference meet...went on to place 17th in his first career IC4A appearance...also competed in the high jump, posting a personal best of 2.01 M (6'7") at the Virginia Tech Invitational to place eighth...finished fifth in that event at the indoor conference meet, meaning that he accounted for 18 points at that event.
2009-10: Focused on the multi events during his first year at VMI, although he did compete in a handful of individual events as well...posted a lifetime best performance in the decathlon at the Big South Championships, scoring 6,097 points and placing sixth...that outing was fueled by a dominating effort in the high jump, at which he cleared a height (1.96 M) nearly five inches better than his closest competitor...was also 11th in the open high jump at that meet...finished a solid seventh in the open high jump at the Military Championships...was eighth in the heptathlon at his first conference meet, the 2010 BSC Indoor Championships...his personal best heptathlon effort came at the season-opening Liberty Kickoff, where he finished fifth after a strong first day...tied for fourth in the open high jump, with a mark of 1.95 meters.
