Biography

2009: Tabbed First Team All-MAAC, making him the first VMI player to earn that honor twice since the Keydets joined the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference...scored a team-high 25 goals during the '09 campaign, a total that ranked him fifth in the MAAC in goals per game...was eighth in the conference in points per game, averaging 2.5 per contest thanks to his 10 assists...was second in the conference in man-up goals per game, as he notched six on the year...was second in the league in shots per game, but was consistent with his attempts as nearly 60% of them were on net (58.6%)...was named MAAC Offensive POTW Feb. 23, after his four goals led VMI to a win over Presbyterian...had a five goal game in the season finale versus Canisius, where he also dished out two assists...those seven points made him one of only seven MAAC players to have that many points in a single game during 2009...will enter 2010 having been named to Inside Lacrosse's Preseason All-MAAC team...also enters 2010 just 21 points off VMI's top-10 career points list...is just 13 goals off the Keydets' top-10 all-time in that category, and falls just seven assists shy of 10th place on the career assists list.

2008: Named First Team All-MAAC as a midfielder...helped VMI reach the conference championship game, and earn its first-ever postseason win with a overtime victory over Providence in the first round of the MAAC tournament...will be the Keydets' leading returning scorer in 2009...notched 25 goals and scored 43 total points during the '08 campaign...scored six goals against Wagner on Mar. 29, the highest total for a VMI player during the regular season...tallied four goals and dished out three assists versus Presbyterian in VMI's first win of the season, a 15-4 triumph on Feb. 27...was named MAAC Offensive Player of the Week twice, earning the honor for his performances against Presbyterian and Wagner...scored all three of VMI's goals against top-20 Army in season's second game...also had three goals against Mount St. Mary's in MAAC action, and notched a pair of scores against both Marist and Saint Joseph's...had six multiple assist games, including a trio of helpers against both Presbyterian and Marist.

2007: Had six two-goal games as a freshman, including five versus conference opponents ... also tallied two assists apiece versus Siena, Drexel, and Wagner, and scored a season-high four points in each of those match-ups ... fired seven shots in 2007 Lee/Jackson classic against Washington and Lee ... scooped up 39 groundballs, good for third on the squad.

High School/Personal: Four-year middie at Holy Cross HS...was the team’s defensive MVP twice...was an Group B All-Conference selection...lettered twice in basketball...received distinctions of All-County, All-Parochial (2x) and All-Conference (2x) in football...has 11 brothers and sisters, five of which play(ed) collegiate sports...brother Tom will join VMI lacrosse during Tim's senior season...full name is Timothy John Moran...son of Joseph and Christine Moran.
