2011-12: Won 400 IM at season opener…third in 100 back…won 200 back against Randolph-Macon…led winning 400-meter medley relay at Mount tri-meet…won 400-meter IM at that meet as well…victorious in 100-meter back as well…won 200 back and was second in 100 in dual with Howard…also swam the fastest time in the 200 IM, but was an exhibition swimmer in that event…capped his season with wins in the 100 and 200 back against Limestone…also second in the 400 IM…third in 200 IM at JMU tri-meet…won 200 back and 200 IM against Gardner-Webb.
2011 CCSA Championships: Placed fifth in the 200 back…was 11th in the 200 IM…competed on fifth-place 400 medley relay squad…was eighth in the 400 IM.
2010-11: Earned a pair of second-place finishes in dual with Gardner-Webb...won the 200 IM in tri-meet with Catholic and Howard...expected to challenge for additional honors at the CCSA meet.
2010 CCSA Championship: Set three new school records at the CCSA’s...became the first Keydet to score a podium finish, finishing third in the 400 IM.
2009-10: Turned in VMI’s top times of the season in the 200 free, the 200 IM, the 400 IM, the 100 back and the 200 back…Also swam on the team’s top 200 medley, 400 medley and 400 free relays…Competed in all but one meet.
2009 CCSA Championship: Notched VMI’s best individual finish, placing seventh in the 400 IM, breaking the school record with a 4:12.28…Also finished ninth in the 200 back (1:55.43) and 15th in the 200 IM (1:58.55), setting new school records in each.
2008-09: One of the top freshmen to come through the program in recent history…Broke three varsity records as a freshman and swam on a rat-record relay squad…Competed in all but one event.
Personal: Son of James and Staci Goodwillie…Father, James, is a VMI graduate that was a member of the track and field team, competing in the pole vault…Sister, Ashton, swam at James Madison…National Top 16 qualifier…Junior National qualifier in several events…Competed for NOVA Aquatics…Biology major.
