Keydets offense comes alive in 15-5 victory over Norfolk State

Schnarrs sets single-season hit-by-pitch record

LEXINGTON, Va. - VMI's offense erupted against Norfolk State on Tuesday night at Gray-Minor Stadium, totaling 13 runs in the first inning as baseball defeated Norfolk State by a score of 15-5. The win is the 28th of the season for VMI (28-23), which is the fifth-most victories in a single season in program history. 

The 28 wins are also the most in a single season for fourth-year Head Coach Sam Roberts, who has posted two consecutive seasons with 27 victories in 2024 and 2025, totaling 26 in 2023. 

Ayden Schnarrs, who entered the game with the second most hit-by-pitches in a season, was plunked three more times to give him the VMI record of 26.

-The Spartans showed life in the fourth, scoring four (13-8)
