FARMVILLE, Va. – VMI Baseball opened its four-game road swing with a loss to Longwood on Tuesday night at Buddy Bolding Stadium.
The Keydets (26-14, 3-9 SoCon) were defeated by the Lancers (24-17, 8-7 Big South), 10-4. VMI will have another shot at Longwood when the two programs meet next Tuesday in Lexington.

First Inning: Raile came out of the gate with an RBI single.
Third Inning: Longwood capitalized with a four-run frame to go up 4-1.
Fourth Inning: VMI bounced back quickly with an RBI single from Schnarrs to cut the deficit in half. However, the Lancers added a pair in the bottom half.
Sixth Inning: Cook's infield single scored Raile, making it 6-3. Once again, Longwood was able to answer, tallying another run.
Eighth Inning: VMI's final run crossed the plate off Jenkin's RBI groundout. The Lancers tacked on three more insurance runs.
