LEXINGTON, Va. – VMI Wrestling prepares for the 2026 Southern Conference Championship, hosted by UNC Asheville at Kimmel Arena in Asheville, North Carolina, this weekend.

The Keydets ended the regular season 6-9 overall with a 2-6 league record, picking up conference wins over Campbell and Presbyterian. VMI is fighting for its 10th tournament crown and looking to add to its long list of conference champions.
The highest-seeded Keydet for the tournament is 197-pounder
Toby Schoffstall, who earned the third seed after going 3-2 in conference play. Landing as the four seed was 141-pounder
Dyson Dunham, who led VMI with five league victories. Dunham is no stranger to the tournament, tallying a third-place mark in 2024 to earn the final at-large spot for the NCAA Championship.

Beau Lewis were named seven seeds for the tournament. The remaining Keydets were selected as eight seeds. One wrangler to watch out for is 165-pounder
Ryan Vigil, who earned four conference wins in his last five bouts.
Pigtail matches begin at 10 a.m. on Friday, followed by the first round, consolation quarterfinals, and semifinals. Day two will resume with consolation semifinals starting at 10 a.m., with the consolation finals at 1 p.m., and championships at 3 p.m.
