CLINTON, S.C. – VMI Wrestling caps off the 2025-26 regular season Monday afternoon with a win over Presbyterian at Templeton Gym.
The Keydets close out the season 6-9 overall with a 2-6 conference record after defeating the Blue Hose, 32-13.
Starting at 174 pounds, VMI got out in front after
Beau Lewis earned a tight 5-3 decision. 197-pounder
Toby Schoffstall, who had a dominant 15-0 technical fall, and 125-pounder
Tony Burke, who recorded his true first league win by a 12-2 major decision, helped the Keydets get back out front, 12-10, heading into the sixth bout.
The Blue Hose took the 133-pound match, but it was all VMI in the final four bouts. After
Dyson Dunham won by forfeit,
Patrick Jordon added another six points to the board with a second-period pin.
Seniors
Ray Cmil and
Ryan Vigil capped off their collegiate regular season careers with victories. Cmil downed his opponent by decision at 157 pounds, before Vigil capitalized in the final bout of the day with a 15-0 shutout technical fall.
