The Keydets (5-8, 1-5 SoCon) picked up a massive SoCon win over Campbell last weekend for their first league victory. VMI looks to build off that momentum against The Citadel (10-7, 6-1 SoCon), who is having an exceptional year in conference play and has won its last two matchups, and Presbyterian (0-13, 0-7 SoCon), who is searching for its first win.
On the rise lately has been 149-pounder
Phoenix Alyea, filling into the slot nicely by earning a pair of league wins.
Ryan Vigil has continued to gain momentum with three-straight match wins at 165 pounds. Also leading the team with three conference victories is 141-pounder
Dyson Dunham.
Though it won't happen this season,
Jim Gibson is inching closer to the 50-win milestone. He currently has 47 wins with two duals remaining.
The Citadel boasts a 6-1 league record and a 4-1 home record. The Bulldogs have won five of their last six matchups, including a tight win over Chattanooga. Presbyterian will compete in its final dual of the season when VMI comes to town. The Blue Hose eye their first conference win since 2023.
VMI is 43-28 against The Citadel and 5-0 against Presbyterian all-time.
