Saturday's opener marks the first competition under new head coach Adam Zaczkowski, who took over both the men's and women's programs in July. Zaczkowski comes to Lexington after serving as the head coach and aquatics director at Le Moyne, where he helped athletes break more than 40 school records while coaching multiple conference champions and record holders.

The Keydets also welcome 13 freshmen to the program this season, adding a significant infusion of youth to a group entering a new chapter both on the pool deck and within the conference structure.

Season Opener
VMI will face UMBC and American Saturday in Baltimore, giving both the men's and women's teams their first opportunity to compete under Zaczkowski.

The meet also begins VMI's first season as an affiliate member of the Northeast Conference. The Keydets previously competed in America East for the past nine seasons and will now prepare for the NEC Championships, which VMI will host at the VMI Aquatic Center in February.

Looking Ahead
Following Saturday's opener, the Keydets return to the VMI Aquatic Center for back-to-back home meets.

The annual Keydet Invite follows Nov. 13-15, while the teams will also compete at the U.S. Open Championships in December and the CSCAA Open Water Championships.

VMI will close the regular season with a series of January meets before hosting the 2027 NEC Championships Feb. 17-20 at the VMI Aquatic Center.
