RICHMOND, Va. – VMI Wrestling picked up two intense bout wins in a neutral-site loss to Bellarmine Friday night at Benedictine College Preparatory.
The Keydets dropped their second Southern Conference dual, 35-10, at the hands of the Knights to fall to 4-5 overall and 0-2 in conference play.
Starting the meet at 149 pounds, VMI started strong with a big 15-4 major decision from
Patrick Jordon, who iced last year's Alumni Weekend Dual in the clutch, to put the Keydets up 4-0 early.
Four Knights picked up bout wins before 197-pounder
Toby Schoffstall used an escape and hard takedown to flip his opponent on his back and earn the pin in the first period. Bellarmine would follow up with a 4-0 bout run to escape Richmond with its second SoCon victory.
