Keydets test Flames at Patchin Field

LEXINGTON, Va. – VMI Men's Soccer put up a strong fight against Liberty Thursday afternoon at Patchin Field.
 
After a one-hour lightning delay, the Keydets (1-3-1) were able to hold their own against the future Southern Conference affiliate Flames (3-0-1), but could not put up points in a 3-0 defeat.



 
Key Stats
- VMI totaled eight shots with four on target.
- The Keydets had more corner kicks than the Flames, 4-2.
- Zack Murphy earned six saves, matching his season high.
- Yeirin Mejia posted five shots, with two on goal, to lead VMI.
- Timofey Dovgalyuk and Jordan Savage each recorded one shot on target.
