Keydets blanked in season-opening match

LEXINGTON, Va. – VMI Men's Soccer dropped the first match of the 2025 campaign to Canisius at Drill Field #2 on Thursday afternoon.
 
The Keydets (0-1) opened the year with a 3-0 defeat to the Golden Griffins. VMI's offense matched Canisius' shot opportunities, but the Griffins were able to capitalize on four shots on goal.



 
Key Stats
- VMI posted 10 shots with two on goal, both coming in the second frame.
- The Keydets had more corner kicks than the Griffins, 6-4, comparatively.
- Yeirin Mejia had a pair of shots with one on target.
- Also dishing out two shots were Jesse Lee and Kong Vue.
