LEXINGTON, Va. – VMI Baseball capped off the Southern Conference series against UNC Greensboro with a win on Sunday at Lamore Field at Gray-Minor Stadium.
Down by three in the fifth inning, the Keydets (17-11, 3-3 SoCon) mounted a big comeback, starting with a game-tying home run by
Boston Torres that led to an 8-6 win over the Spartans. With the triumph, VMI evens its conference record to stay in the middle of the pack in the SoCon race.

- This marks the fourth straight game in which the Keydets have put up double-digit hits.

- VMI was able to cut the deficit in half after Prince stole home right before Garner singled in Raile to make it 4-2 in the third inning.
- Like clockwork, UNCG answered with a two-run home run in the fourth inning to get back in front by four.
- Despite the momentum carrying in favor of the Spartans, the Keydets were able to turn the tables starting in the fourth frame when Prince singled in a run to make it 6-3.
- In the fifth inning, Torres stepped up and launched a three-run rocket to left field to tie the game at six apiece.
- VMI would take the lead in the sixth inning after Garner sent an RBI double to right field that plated Prince.
- The Keydets would score once more in the seventh thanks to an RBI sacrifice bunt by
Kazuya Jordan.
