CULLOWHEE, N.C. – VMI Baseball dropped its first Southern Conference duel to Western Carolina Friday night at Hennon Stadium.
The Keydets (14-8, 0-1 SoCon) suffered a series-opening loss to the Catamounts, 7-3. VMI went hit-for-hit with Western Carolina but it was the Keydets' four errors that came back to haunt them.

- VMI tallied three runs off seven hits with two RBIs.

Grayson Fitzwater went two for three with two RBIs and two runs along with a long home run to extend his hitting streak to eight games.
