Last Time Out: ETSU 62, VMI 55 – Wednesday, Feb. 5 – Lexington, Va.
The VMI basketball team put up a fight but came up short as visiting ETSU earned a 62-55 victory over the Keydets Wednesday night at Cameron Hall.

The Bucs gradually built a lead in the opening half by hitting big shots to start to separate themselves from the Keydets early on. ETSU tallied a 13-point lead at the 6:55 mark, 25-12, following a John Buggs III three-pointer for its largest lead of the game. VMI kept pace until the half but went into the break with a 39-26 deficit with one half to play. Linus Holmstrom kept VMI in the game with 10 points in the first half going 2-2 from three-point range.

An AJ Clark tip-in layup at the 12:02 mark of the second half brought VMI within four, 41-37, but the Bucs responded by building their lead back to 12 points just four minutes later which proved to be insurmountable despite VMI's best efforts to rally back.
