FAIRFIELD Conn. – VMI Wrestling completed the 2024-25 regular season with a road win over Sacred Heart on Sunday at William H. Pitt Center.
 
The Keydets finished the year 7-11 overall and 2-6 in Southern Conference action after a 23-18 win over the Pioneers, earning a season sweep.
 
 
With the match starting at 141, Sacred Heart jumped out to an 11-0 advantage. Logan Chambers kicked off VMI's scoring surge with a 12-7 decision at 165 pounds before 174-pounder Luke Hart earned a 16-1 technical fall in 6:50 to bring the Keydets within three.
 
VMI took the lead after Braxton Lewis and Toby Schoffstall each earned technical falls in their respective bouts. Lewis tallied a 17-1 technical fall in 3:50 at 184 pounds before Schoffstall nabbed a 17-0 technical fall in 4:33 at 197 pounds.
 
With an 18-14 lead, 125-pounder Waylon Rogers sealed the Pioneers' fate with the Keydets' fourth technical fall of the day, winning the bout 16-1 in 3:54.
