Basketball to host Wofford College Wednesday night

LEXINGTON, Va. – The VMI basketball team looks to ride its momentum from a big win at Mercer last weekend when the Keydets play host to Wofford College Wednesday night at 6 p.m. at Cameron Hall.
 
The game is designated as Faculty and Staff Appreciation Day and several VMI faculty and staff will be recognized for their contributions to the Institute and to VMI cadet-athletes.

About Wofford College (14-13, 8-6)
The Terriers are coming off a close 76-68 loss at the hands of visiting Samford last weekend but won the previous two SoCon meetings against Mercer and The Citadel. Wofford finds itself in the middle of the pack in the conference race with an 8-6 league record as the regular season comes to a close next week.
 
Corey Tripp continues to lead the team in points at 13.7 ppg while Kyler Filewich (11.7) and Dillon Bailey (11.6) are close behind.
 
Series History (10-24)
The Keydets look to continue to cut into the deficit in the all-time series history as Wofford owns 24 wins to VMI's 10. Three weeks ago on January 29, the Keydets went into Spartanburg and earned a 74-67 win over the Terriers, their first win at the venue in three years.
 
With a victory, VMI will have earned its third conference series sweep of the season as the Keydets have won both contests this season against The Citadel and Western Carolina and look to add Wofford to the list.
