VMI topped by Furman at home

LEXINGTON, Va. – VMI Men's Soccer had a strong showing throughout, but a pair of late goals by Top Drawer's No. 11 Furman resulted in a hard-fought loss at Patchin Field on Saturday.
 
The Keydets (2-9-3, 0-3-0) limited the nationally-recognized Paladins (9-1-4, 2-0-1) to one goal in the first, but it was back-to-back goals late in the second that proved costly in a 3-0 defeat.
 
Key Stats
- VMI posted six shots, with two on target.
- Jordan Savage and Yeirin Mejia each had one shot on goal.
- Savage had a team-high two shots.
- Zack Murphy tallied eight saves, the most by any Southern Conference goalie in a league game this season.
- Jack Yough, Jack Miller, Conner Reid, Savage, and Murphy played all 90 minutes.
