th-ranked Hoos downed VMI 16-4.

How it Happened
- Neither team would strike in the opening frame, but Virginia put two on the board in the second, adding another two in the third (4-0 UVA)
- The Cavaliers took full control in the fourth, putting up five more runs
- The top of the sixth brought some life for VMI, as Starke smashed a solo shot to left field to get the Keydets on the board
- After Virginia jumped in front 14-1, VMI loaded the bases in the 8
th, ultimately pushing three runs home
What's on Deck
The Keydets (3-6) return to Lexington for four games scheduled against NJIT. The series opener is slated for Friday at 3 p.m. at Lamore Field at Gray-Minor Stadium.
