Keydets return home to face VUL

LEXINGTON, Va. – After three weeks and six consecutive contests away from Lexington, the VMI basketball team finally returns to Cameron Hall to face Virginia University of Lynchburg Tuesday night.
 
Tip-off is set for a 6 p.m. start at Cameron Hall.

Tuesday's game will be free of charge for Lexington City elementary school students attending either Waddell Elementary or Central Elementary.

About Virginia University of Lynchburg
The Dragons have played eight games thus far resulting in an 0-8 overall record. The losses have come to Campbellsville (2x), Norfolk State, Mercer, Rio Grande, Cumberland, West Alabama and Alabama State.
 
Le'nijel Robinson (22.3 ppg) and Terrance Johnson (22.2 ppg) lead the Dragons in scoring through eight games played. David Amoakohene and Saveon Jackson average 6.0 points per contest.
 
All-Time Series History vs. VUL (VMI leads 2-0)
VMI and VUL have faced each other only twice before in the all-time series. The schools last met on December 9, 2013, a 110-78 VMI victory at home. The only other contest occurred one year prior on December 3, 2012, a 102-61 VMI win in Lexington.

Looking to come back from a 42-29 deficit at the half, the VMI basketball team's rally came up short as host George Washington earned a 77-64 win Friday, Nov. 29 at the Charles E. Smith Center in Washington, D.C.
 
With the loss, the Keydets fall to 4-5 on the early season while the Revolutionaries improve to 6-2.
 
VMI kept pace with the Revs for much of the opening half and trailed just 33-27 with 2:39 left before halftime. George Washington made a late push to extend its lead to 13 to go into the break with a 42-29 advantage, a lead the Keydets ultimately could not overcome as both teams scored 35 points in the second stanza.
