LEXINGTON, Va. – VMI Swimming & Diving looks to continue its hot start in the pool this weekend when the Keydets face UMBC and Saint Peter's in Baltimore, Maryland on Saturday at 2 p.m.
The Keydets had 10 first-place men's winners en route to a 193-101 team victory over the Mountaineers. Freshman
Jack Mills put on a show, smashing his own Rat and team records in the 200 butterfly with a first-place finishing time of one minute and 53.32. Mills also swam to first place in the 100 freestyle.
The women put up triple-digit points against the Mountaineers last weekend in an all-around effort. Freshman
Emerson Cosner broke her own Rat and team records in the 200 butterfly with a time of 2:11.93 seconds while freshman
Mackenzie Byrne set a new Rat record in the 50 freestyle with a first-place mark of 24.41. Byrne also placed first in the 100 freestyle with a mark of 54.27, just one second shy of breaking the Rat and team records.
All divers earned a personal best in both one- and three-meter dives against Mount St. Mary's and seek strong performances against America East foe, UMBC, and Saint Peter's.
