LEXINGTON, Va. – VMI Men's Soccer kicked off its three-game homestand with a challenging loss to UNC Greensboro, who received votes in the latest United Soccer Coaches poll, at Patchin Field Saturday afternoon.
The Keydets (5-8-2, 0-4-0) limited the Spartans' (9-2-4, 2-1-1) offensive opportunities, resulting in a 1-0 score. Going into the final week of the regular season, VMI holds the sixth seed while UNCG can move up to as high as second. Both teams will play one last Southern Conference match next weekend with the Keydets hosting Wofford and the Spartans battling East Tennessee State.
